Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with dual rear cameras, Helio P25 SoC leaked

Xiaomi is reportedly working on the successor of its best-selling smartphone in India, the Redmi Note 4. Going by Xiaomi’s schedule, the company will be launching the Redmi Note 5 by early 2018. The smartphone is expected to come with incremental upgrades over the Redmi Note 4, and even the recently launched Redmi Note 5A. According to the latest leak, the Redmi Note 5 will feature a dual-camera setup, its biggest upgrade so far.
The alleged Redmi Note 5 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display. These details were posted on Chinese service Weibo, and was spotted by TechPP. The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 octa-processor. In India, Xiaomi will possibly launch the Redmi Note 5 powered by a Snapdragon SoC as seen in the past. In terms of memory, the smartphone will come in two variants – 3GB RAM plus 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.
Coming to its highlight, the Redmi Note 5 will sport a dual-camera setup at the rear. The dual-camera module will include a pair of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. Specifics on the dual cameras haven’t been revealed as yet. In comparison, the Mi A1 has two 12-megapixel rear cameras which work together to create a DLSR-like bokeh effect. Up front, the Redmi Note 5 will sport a 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
The leak further reveals that the smartphone will be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery. On the software front, it will possibly run Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 layered on top. Another upgrade expected is a USB Type-C port on the Redmi Note 5 for connectivity.
